Official brigade training day –
1st Sunday of every month
Brigade training is held at 10 am on the 1st Sunday of the month. This is to educate new members about our equipment & provide a refresher course for current members – particularly at the beginning of the fire season. Different topics are covered every month. These can include:
- use of radios
- emergency protocol
- fire truck familiarisation
- clean-up & maintenance requirements for the truck
- pumps/standpipes
There will be an officer at the shed each Sunday at 10am for introductory training or questions. Please drop in to get to know your brigade.

QFES Training
Within the Rural Fire Service (RFS) there are both operational and support roles. Fire Fighting Training is provided by QFES, and multiple levels of training are available throughout the year.
Firefighting is a hazardous job and there are many risks involved in protecting your community against fire. Training offered is both accredited training (nationally recognized) and non-accredited training (recognized only within Queensland Fire and Emergency Services).
