Want to Join Millstream South Fire Brigade?
If you would like to join your local Rural Fire Brigade, come along to one of our monthly meetings – the first Friday of every month – at the Fire Shed, 933 Wooroora Rd, Ravenshoe.
You can join as either a firefighter or as a support member. Firefighters are trained by Queensland Fire and Emergency Service. Support members are welcome to offer whatever skills they have to the brigade.
You will be able to obtain the member application form after the meeting, and then just need to complete the necessary paperwork and supporting identification.
As of 2020, all new members must also be approved for a Blue Card. Forms are available in the membership pack, and all costs for this is covered by QFES.
Once you receive a letter of acceptance from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, you are a full member of the Brigade. If you are joining as a firefighter, personal protection equipment (PPE) – uniform, helmet, goggles, gloves and boots – will then be ordered for you and you can sign up for training.
